Year 7 students recently returned from an unforgettable three-day residential trip to Tower Wood Outdoor Education Centre, where they experienced adventure, teamwork and plenty of outdoor fun in the beautiful surroundings of the Lake District.
For many students, this was their very first residential trip with the school, making the experience even more exciting. Over the three days, students challenged themselves with a wide range of outdoor education activities designed to build confidence, resilience and friendships.
The group took part in thrilling gorge scrambling sessions, where they climbed, splashed and scrambled their way through rocky streams and waterfalls. They also enjoyed watersports on the lake, making the most of the calm conditions and stunning scenery. One of the highlights for many was raft building, where teams worked together to design and construct their own rafts before testing them out on the water.
The weather throughout the trip was beautiful, with sunshine and clear skies providing the perfect backdrop for all the activities. Between the adventure sessions, students enjoyed spending time with friends, exploring the outdoors and creating memories that will last for years to come.
Staff were incredibly proud of how the Year 7 students approached every challenge with enthusiasm and determination. Whether stepping out of their comfort zones, encouraging one another, or simply embracing every opportunity, the pupils represented the school brilliantly.
It was a fantastic first residential experience for Year 7, and one that everyone will remember fondly.
