This week, a group of Dowdales students enjoyed an enriching and memorable overnight Educational visit that perfectly showcased our commitment to broadening horizons beyond the classroom. At Dowdales, we are proud to offer a wide range of Educational visits and trips that enhance learning and inspire ambition. This trip was a fantastic example of the impact these experiences can have.
The visit was designed for students with a keen interest in progressing to university level, particularly those curious about Oxbridge pathways. Students demonstrated enthusiasm and maturity as they embarked on an exciting journey of academic discovery.
The highlight of the trip was a visit to The Queen’s College at the University of Oxford. Students took part in a university taster session, enjoyed lunch in the historic dining hall, attended an informative talk about university life and applications and explored the college grounds on a guided tour. For many, this was their first opportunity to experience a world-renowned university first-hand, and it proved to be both motivating and eye-opening. Students gained valuable insight into academic expectations, campus life and future possibilities, leaving them inspired and full of questions about their own next steps.
The group also visited Oxford University’s Natural History Museum, where students were able to deepen their learning through fascinating exhibits that brought science and history to life in an engaging and accessible way.
On Friday, the trip continued with a self-guided tour of Warwick Castle. This visit complemented the academic focus of the previous day by offering students the chance to explore British history in an immersive setting. From the castle walls to the exhibits inside, students showed curiosity, enthusiasm and excellent behaviour throughout.
We are incredibly proud of how our students represented the school and grateful to the staff who made this inspiring experience possible.
