Our Year 10 students enjoyed an unforgettable ski trip to Aosta, set in the heart of the stunning Aosta Valley in northern Italy. Surrounded by some of Europe’s highest peaks, including Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn, the resort provided a spectacular backdrop for a week of skiing, learning and adventure.
The group spent the majority of the week skiing in Pila, a popular resort known for its wide, well-groomed pistes and breathtaking panoramic views across the valley. With slopes suitable for all abilities, students were able to build confidence, improve technique and challenge themselves under the guidance of experienced instructors. Many made impressive progress over the week, with beginners mastering their first runs and more experienced skiers tackling longer and more demanding routes.
When not on the slopes, students had the opportunity to experience the culture of the Aosta Valley, a region rich in history and influenced by both Italian and French traditions. Evenings were spent relaxing, reflecting on the day’s achievements, and enjoying time together as a group bowling and pizza making.
Throughout the trip, the students demonstrated excellent behaviour, resilience and teamwork, representing Dowdales with pride.
The week was a fantastic combination of physical challenge, cultural experience, and fun, creating memories that will last well beyond the classroom.
