We are celebrating a fantastic achievement after leading the Furness team to victory in the county athletics championships held in Carlisle. Sixteen talented Year 7 students from Dowdales were selected to represent the Furness area, joining forces with athletes from several other local schools.
Team Furness faced tough competition from five other districts across the county but rose to the occasion in style—ultimately being crowned County Champions.
Dowdales students played a key role in this success, delivering outstanding individual performances.
The team secured four 1st place finishes and three 2nd place finishes, showing exceptional talent and determination on the track and field.
Special congratulations go to Henry, Mila, and Ava, who not only won their events but also broke five school recordsbetween them:
Henry – Hurdles and 275m
Mila – 275m
Ava – Hurdles and 1500m
