On Monday, our Dowdales Student Librarians had the fantastic opportunity to visit Ever After Books, the new independent bookshop in Dalton. It was a wonderful experience, and our students were an absolute credit to the school.
The shop owners kindly opened their doors especially for us and even put up a welcoming sign outside, reading “Dowdales Junior Librarians”—a lovely touch that made the visit feel even more special.
During our time there, we explored how the shop was set up, looking closely at the way books were organised by genre, themes, and labels. The students asked plenty of thoughtful questions, eager to learn more about the world of bookselling. The shop owners were just as interested in what we do as Student Librarians, making it a great exchange of ideas and enthusiasm for books.
A huge thank you to Ever After Books for their warm hospitality and for making our visit so memorable. We look forward to returning soon!
