Our very first “Twilight Tales” was a great success on All Hallows’ Eve! Mrs Aaron turned the library into a spooky grotto complete with spider webs, electric candles, haunted music and served spooky drinks and snacks. Last week as part of our partnership with the Royal Shakespeare Company, we visited Stratford-upon-Avon to watch Macbeth. Year 8 and the Dowdales English department had a fabulous time. We look forward to more visits next week. Ms Aubrey, Headteacher

A group of Dowdales School Year 11 students are in Paris this week focusing on speaking French and studying mathematics. They have had a hectic week visiting all the key sites: the Louvre Museum, the Eiffel Tower, Museum of Science and Industry, the Planetarium, a boat ride on the Seine, Montmartre, Arc de Triomphe, Champs-Elysees

Students here at Dowdales had great fun, on Tuesday, taking part in poetry workshops led by The Wordsworth Trust. What talented young poets we have here! We cannot wait to see them nurture this talent at our Untrodden Ways Poetry Club with professional poet Katie Hale.
