A group of Dowdales School students recently celebrated the successful completion of the Made Training and BAE Systems VIPER Coaching Programme by taking part in an exciting three-day residential at The Outward Bound Trust, Ullswater, from Monday 8th to Wednesday 10th June 2026.
The residential formed the culmination of the year-long mentoring programme, recognising the students’ commitment, determination and personal growth throughout their time on the VIPER Coaching Programme.
Over the three days, students challenged themselves through a range of adventurous outdoor activities, including ghyll scrambling, rock climbing and kayaking. Each activity encouraged students to step outside their comfort zones while developing valuable life skills such as resilience, teamwork, communication and confidence.
Throughout the residential, students embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm, supporting one another and demonstrating the positive attitudes they have developed over the course of the programme. Whether tackling physical challenges, encouraging teammates or overcoming personal fears, they represented Dowdales School with maturity and determination.
The experience provided students with lasting memories, new friendships and a real sense of achievement, while reinforcing the importance of perseverance and collaboration.
We are incredibly proud of every student who took part and would like to thank Made Training, BAE Systems, and The Outward Bound Trust for providing such an inspiring opportunity. Programmes like these play an important role in helping young people build confidence, develop employability skills and realise their full potential.
Congratulations to all of our students on successfully completing the VIPER Coaching Programme and for making the most of this fantastic experience.
