We were delighted to hold our annual Year 7 Carol Concert at St Mary’s Church in Dalton, marking a wonderful and festive moment in our school calendar. Parents, carers and friends of the school joined our Year 7 students for a truly special service that celebrated music, reflection and being together.
Year 7 performed a beautiful alternative version of Away in a Manger, showcasing their hard work and confidence, while the school choir gave a moving performance of O Little Town of Bethlehem. The congregation was warmly encouraged to join in with the singing of much-loved carols, including Once in Royal David’s City and O Come, All Ye Faithful, filling the church with a joyful and celebratory atmosphere.
The service also included thoughtful readings from our students, and we were grateful to hear a reflective and thought-provoking address from our Head of Religious Studies, Mrs Bunter. She shared the importance of meaningful conversation with friends and family, a message that resonated strongly at this time of year.
It was a lovely, festive occasion and a fitting end to our Christmas celebrations.
Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event, and well done to our Year 7 students and choir for making the concert such a success.
