Our Year 10 students truly shone during their recent maths enrichment visit to George Romney Junior School. From the moment they returned, it was clear just how much they had enjoyed the experience – they were buzzing with enthusiasm and pride in what they had achieved.
The children at George Romney were a delight to work with – friendly, curious and thoroughly engaged in the activities. Their positive attitude created a warm and productive environment that allowed our students to thrive in their roles as mentors.
Although the sessions had been carefully planned in advance, one of the most impressive aspects of the morning was watching our Year 10 students adapt their approach in real time. They seamlessly adjusted explanations, clarified misconceptions and offered targeted support where needed. Their ability to recognise key learning points and guide the younger children through each task was evident throughout.
It was a pleasure to see them step into leadership roles – encouraging participation, asking thoughtful questions and building the children’s confidence in their maths skills. The maturity, patience and initiative they demonstrated made the morning not only successful but genuinely inspiring.
Overall, it was an enjoyable and enriching experience for everyone involved. We are incredibly proud of our Year 10 students for representing the school so brilliantly and for making such a positive impact on the pupils at George Romney Junior School.
