We ware delighted to present nine local primary schools with the first Dowdales Primary Sports Mark Awards, celebrating their commitment to sport and the fantastic opportunities they provide for their pupils throughout the year.
The awards recognise and congratulate the efforts of primary school teachers who actively support and attend a wide range of sporting events organised by Dowdales. These events bring local primary schools together, giving pupils the opportunity to take part in competitive and inclusive sporting activities while developing their skills, confidence and enjoyment of sport.
Throughout the year, primary schools have been working towards achieving their Dowdales Sports Mark by attending and supporting a variety of sporting events. The award is assessed through the number of events each school attends during the academic year, encouraging continued involvement and participation in school sport.
The sporting events, which are organised and delivered by Dowdales Sports Leaders, include cross country, hockey, tag rugby, dodgeball, athletics, netball, football and mini Olympics. These events provide pupils with the chance to try different sports, compete alongside other schools and represent their primary school with pride.
The enthusiasm and dedication of primary school teachers have played an important role in making these opportunities possible. Their continued support helps encourage pupils to get involved in sport, build new skills and develop a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.
The first Dowdales Primary Sports Mark Awards are a wonderful way to celebrate the strong sporting links between Dowdales and our local primary schools. We would like to congratulate all seven schools on their achievements and thank the teachers and Dowdales Sports Leaders for their hard work, enthusiasm and commitment to providing sporting opportunities for young people across our community.
Well done to all our primary schools! We look forward to another year of exciting sporting events and opportunities.
