Dowdales School is situated in the ancient market town of Dalton in Furness, nestled between the beautiful Lake District Fells and the stunning Cumbrian Coast.

Dalton is 33 miles from the M6 via the A590. There is a train station with services running to Preston and Manchester Airport. There is a local bus service which runs from the local town of Barrow in Furness through Dalton and on to the quaint market town of Ulverston.

The biggest tourist attraction in the area is the South Lakes Wild Animal Park which is recognised as one of Europe’s leading conservation zoos and is just 1 mile from the school.
