We cover topics such as Sustainability, Human Rights, Alcohol Education and Financial Capability. We use a variety of teaching methods which encourages students to be independent in their approach to learning. We also encourage all of them to be active citizens and participate fully in the communities to which they belong.
Students also get chances to get involved in fundraising at a local, national and international level as well as learning about our chosen causes during Citizenship Week
In Year 7 students will learn about identity, belonging, culture and human rights.
In Year 8 Students will learn about the legal system, advocacy and campaigning, community and cultures.
In Year 9, students look at democracy and politics, media and news. This prepares students well for the new AQA Citizenship GCSE.
