All students from Years 7-11 are issued with exam timetables this is done through a formal assembly delivered by the Deputy Headteacher, Assistant Headteachers and the examination officer. During the assembly students are given key advice on how the exams will work and how you can train your brain to revise. Letters are issued to parents along with the exam timetables. Students are supported in their revision through structured activities during preparation for learning time.
All exams are marked by the end of term and feedback is given to students through subjects. All results are collated and used to inform groupings and interventions for the forthcoming year.
All students study English, Mathematics, Science, ICT, Physical Education, Art, Music, Dance, Drama, French, German, Spanish, Geography, History, Citizenship, Religious Education and Design Technology.
There are many other opportunities to learn as part of the additional curriculum with regular clubs and activities in the lunch break and after school in areas such as performing arts, sport, science, modern languages and art.
All students study a core curriculum of English, English Literature, Mathematics, Science, Physical Education, ICT and The Life Course.
Students can then broaden their curriculum by opting to study any of the following four additional subjects French, German, Spanish, Art, Music, Dance, Drama, Media Studies, Engineering, Resistant Materials, Food Technology, Textiles Technology, Geography, Citizenship, History, Religious Studies, Separate Sciences, ICT and Sport. These are all studied to GCSE Level or equivalent.
