Design Technology is an exciting subject in which students explore a number of material areas whilst designing and making their own products. As part of this students will use a mixture of hand skills alongside both modern methods and materials.

Design Technology is made up of five material areas, each of which is taught by a team of well qualified specialist staff. Our teaching areas were refurbished in 2012.  Rooms include two new food technology rooms, a newly fitted textiles room and two workshops.  We also have a CAD/CAM suite and small food technology computer area and mobile classroom IT facilities.

Extra Curricular

Patch club takes place every Monday evening and is open to Year 7, 8 and 9. Students can have a go at the tasks on offer or can have a go at their own fashion or furnishings tasks.

We also hold a Creative Workshop Club on a Thursday after school for students in Year 7 and 8.

We also have lots of competitions for students to take part in such as the Rotary Chef Competition, The Rotary Technology tournament, the Rotary Young Textiles Technologist Competition and the Greenpower Racing competition.
