Celebrating British Values in Activities Week

Activities Week is an important part of our curriculum provision at Dowdales, praised by Ofsted, but more importantly an opportunity for a creative approach to curriculum planning suited to our students’ needs and interests around a central theme.

The theme for this year’s week is the celebration of British Values.

A packed programme of events will take place in the final week of term with a large number of students from all year groups participating in residential trips to Cologne, London and the Lake District YMCA. In addition there are day trips to the Imperial War Museum in Manchester, Windermere Outdoor Ed Centre, Preston, Blackpool and Black Combe.

For those students staying in school the week offers the opportunity to engage in a wide range of fun and thought provoking activities. Students will take part in a carousel of different activities within four subject areas.

Throughout this year’s British Values Activities Week students will develop new skills, making the most of what is an exciting curriculum offer.
